Frequently asked questions

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR UNBLOCKING DRAINS?

We charge £115.00 +VAT, fixed price. 85% of all our blockages are cleared within the first hour.

DO YOU REALLY OPERATE ON A FIXED PRICE BASIS?

Yes, we operate on a fixed price basis for clearing a blockage in your drain. However, sometimes there may be more serious issues that cause the blockage, such as a collapsed drain or root ingress. In these cases, we cannot fix the problem for the same price as a simple unblocking, because it may require digging up your driveway or garden to access the fault. We hope you understand that this is a reasonable exception to our fixed price policy.

If we encounter such a situation, we will always perform a free look-see CCTV camera survey to show you what is going on and prove that there is a more serious problem. We will then give you our recommendations and ask you how you want to proceed. We will never do any extra work or charge you any extra fees without your consent and approval. We always stop and show you the evidence before we continue. That way, you will never get an unexpected bill at the end.

ARE YOU A FRANCHISE?

No. Unlike some drainage companies, we are not a franchise and we never sub contract our work out. This means that we are a centralised company that can offer you a consistent service and more importantly a consistent price. We are in control of our staff and we ensure that they deliver high-quality work every time.

DO YOU PROVIDE CCTV DRAIN SURVEYS?

We do! If you are looking to buy a home or need to provide proof of your drainage condition to your insurance company, you can benefit from our Drain Surveys. We have a team of experienced professionals who can handle any domestic or commercial drainage job. We offer a free no obligation quote before we start the CCTV drain survey, which will be based on the specific features of your property. We will not charge you more than the quoted price. Our CCTV drain survey uses advanced waterproof cameras to inspect your drains for any problems, such as tree roots, damage, blockages, leaks, or pipe collapse. We will also clean your drains with high powered water jetting before we begin the survey. We will provide you with an official report that you can use to support your property transaction or lease agreement.
Please contact us on the number provided on this web page to discuss pricing and options with one of our qualified experts.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UNBLOCKING MY DRAINs?

The location of the blockage determines who is responsible for fixing it. You need to check if the blockage is in your drain, a private sewer shared by some neighbours, or a public sewer. If only your property has a blocked drain, you (or your landlord) have to deal with it.

If other neighbours also have the same problem, the blockage might be in a private sewer that belongs to all of you – you have to work together to remove the blockage in this situation, unless the local water authority owns the private sewer. Finally, if the blockage is in a public sewer, the water authority has to take care of it. You are usually responsible for your drainage system and internal pipework as the homeowner or tenant (depending on your tenant agreement), and the local water company is only responsible for the drains when the blockage is outside your property.
You might be able to claim the cost of a drain unblocking service from your home insurance too, even though you are responsible for unblocking your drains.

All of our engineers are fully certified and insured to handle any type of drain blockage. Plus you'll get a 100-Day Guarantee on completion of works.
